Who Presents the Leeds, That! Podcast?

Rocco Dean - writes all his books using an old fashioned fountain pen. He doesn’t.

Rocco Dean

My name is Rocco Dean, and I am a die-hard Leeds United fan. My journey as a writer began as a kid when I used to record my own notes from Leeds United games. It was during the 2020 lockdown when I started documenting the transformation of our beloved team under Marcelo Bielsa's leadership.

I am proud to have authored four books under Pitch Publishing: "Marcelo Bielsa vs The Damned United", "The O'Leary Years", "League One Leeds", and "Marcelo Bielsa vs The Premier League". These books capture the incredible journey of Leeds United and their progress under Bielsa's guidance.

In addition to my writing, I have become a regular and now permanent presenter and article contributor for the "Leeds That" podcast. It's a privilege to share my passion and knowledge about Leeds United with fellow fans and football enthusiasts through this platform.

Being a writer and podcast contributor has allowed me to express my love for the sport and my favorite team in ways I could have never imagined as a kid taking notes during games. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to continuing my journey as a writer and football enthusiast. MOT! (Marching On Together!)

In 1993, my world shifted when I witnessed Leeds United on the pitch for the first time during a match against Blackburn. It was for my friend Matthew, who co-founded the podcast alongside Andy Ireland and Paul Morrison. That particular game sparked something within me, and from that moment on, I became a devoted fan of the club.

After the disappointment of Leeds United being knocked out of the semi-final play-offs to Derby County, we felt the need for something productive and cathartic. Thus, we decided to create the Leeds, That! podcast. Since then, I have been actively involved in producing, editing, and managing our social media presence for the podcast.

As we've learned from Marcelo Bielsa, football is more than just a game. For Leeds, That?, our vision goes beyond casual football chatter. We aspire for our podcast to be a positive force, making a meaningful contribution to the city of Leeds. We want to be a catalyst for good, gradually bringing about positive changes and impacts through our platform.
